My Review of Now You See Me: Now You Dont!!!- (⭐⭐⭐½ /5)

THE FOUR HORSEMEN ARE BACK BABY!! I was fortunate enough to catch the lastest entry in the NYSM franchise: Now You See Me Now You Don't, early at the Motiongate X Roxy Cinemas UAE premiere, thanks to Roxy Cinemas and Italia Film ME. I was a huge fan of the previous 2 films, the first one being the highlight of the series for me, and boy did I enjoy this one!

First off, this movie is a ton of fun. Packed with stylistic magic sequences, exotic locations (even a portion in Abu Dhabi 😉) and a fresh pack of characters, Now You See Me: Now You Don't kept me on the edge of my seat, anticipating the next crazy magic trick they would do to get out of whatever risky situation they're in. The plot is fairly simple: the 4 Horsemen team up with a bunch of new "illusionists" to steal the world's largest diamond; however, the execution surpassed the simplicity of the plot. The highlight of the film for me was the scene where they each tried to one-up the other using magic, an absolutely mind-bending sequence that showcases everything the Now You See Me franchise stands for.

The film doesn't aim to deliver a rich plot, multiple twists or mind-blowing grandeur; rather, it sticks to the original formula of the previous 2 films and allows the audience to be immersed into its magical world. Woody Harrelson steals the show with his charm, Jessie Eisenberg was always my favorite out of the 4 Horsemen and continues to deliver his quirky humour, and the rest of the cast were perfect in their supporting roles. The music/background score by Brian Tyler adds to the atmosphere, the cast is wonderful to see again on the big screen and the new characters provide humour and have great chemistry with each other.

There isn't a ton of negatives to point out in this one, but it did have certain aspects that didn't personally work for me. I felt the villain was quite cartoonish and cliché (the usual evil CEO troupe); the screenplay did falter while jumping from location to location, and some of the Gen-Z jokes didn't land for me.

Not alot to say about this one but all in all, I had a LOOT of fun watching this at the Dubai premiere and it was significantly better than it's predecessor. If you're a fan of this series, you will have an absolute blast with this one because it's fast-paced, funny and entertaining. The first one still remains supreme but this one was a worthy entry.

⭐ Rating: 7/10 and catch it in cinemas for a fun, magical ride!
